![]() ![]() Range anxiety is mostly between your ears. Whereas for an EV going at free-flowing freeway speeds is what chews up your battery and the optimal route in terms of battery usage is going to be trading a few minutes of travel time for lower battery usage-going a little slower and having a little stop-and-go so that you're not hammering the battery by going 65+ and can recapture some of the energy as you slow down approaching red lights and whatnot.ĩ9% barely drives 30% of the cars range. For an ICE car the most fuel efficient route will tend to also be the fastest route since for an ICE car you get fuel efficiency by keeping the car moving at a steady pace. They have the fuel efficient routes thing but I think it's just for ICE cars, and the fuel efficient route for an ICE car is basically the opposite of the fuel efficient route for an electric car. Tangential note: I've never actually found Waze to be that helpful in terms of navigation compared to GMaps. Combined Waze into GMaps, and there goes a whole bunch of users to some competitor like HereWeGo. ![]() No idea why they haven't just combined the two already.īecause a large contingent of Waze users pretty much only use it because it isn't GMaps, even if Google owns the app. ![]()
